Byline: Jim Johnson A Colorado company is making the largest wind power purchase in U.S. ski industry history, a move that is equivalent to taking 2,500 cars off the road. Aspen Skiing Co.'s decision to buy 21,000 megawatt-hours of wind power will cover 100 percent of the company's electricity use at four ski mountains and two hotels.
"This principle represents our guiding principles in action,'' said Pat O'Donnell, president and CEO of Aspen Skiing. "Clearly, the most pressing issue of our time is climate change, and addressing energy use is one of the most important actions we can take on that front,'' O'Donnell said.
