Meat Processing Waste from Swift & Co. to create gas Swift & Co., the world's second-largest processor of fresh beef and pork, plans to construct a biogas production facility at the company's Grand Island, Neb., beef processing plant. Environmental Power Corp. of Portsmouth, N.H., through its Microgy Inc subsidiary, will provide anaerobic digestion technology to extract methane gas from animal waste, meat processing waste and wastewater plant residuals.
