Innovation and forward thinking seem to be everywhere. At least there are multiple examples in this issue of Waste News.

Let's start with the obvious, the three Waste News Environmental Award winners, which are highlighted on Page 1. Dell Inc. is rightfully praised domestically and abroad for its free recycling program. To paraphrase Barbara Kyle of the Computer TakeBack Campaign, Dell's program defines product stewardship.

RecycleBank, the stereotypical two-guys-in-a-garage startup, earned an award from Waste News for a program that plays off people's love of free stuff as well as their desire to do right by the environment.
