There's a deeply entrenched idea in society that business is the environment's enemy. Business is about the bottom line, and worrying about the environment just gets in the way, or so the thinking goes.
This issue of Waste News includes a special section that argues strongly to the contrary. We've presented just a small sampling of ideas that businesses have successfully implemented to be better environmental stewards and help the operation financially as well. Some of the ideas are obvious, while others show a good deal of ingenuity. But they are all ideas that have worked, both environmentally and economically.
