Byline: Jim Johnson Paper and wood products maker Boise Cascade expects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by another 10 percent, in part by using more biomass fuel and less fossil fuel to run operations. The Boise, Idaho-based company said it plans to cut its emissions by 2014 by using 2004 as a baseline year.
Boise Cascade already derives more than 60 percent of its energy used in manufacturing from biomass, but will push that figure higher as part of its involvement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Leaders Partnership.
