Trapeze, Aruba, Cisco, and Bluesocket lead in WLAN security, says ABI Research[degrees].(MARKET INTELLIGENCE)

According to a new ABI Research study and its accompanying ABI Vendor Matrix, wireless LAN vendors are filling key security gaps with proprietary solutions that are becoming check-off items for enterprise buyers unwilling to wait for key standards to be finalized in areas such as roaming, load balancing, and management. Enterprises also now expect tightly integrated intrusion detection and site planning functionality.

ABI's vice president and research director, Stan Schatt, said, "In our ABI Vendor Matrix evaluation, Cisco has by far the most ambitious security vision for wireless LANs, and scores highest on the Innovation axis, followed by Bluesocket. Trapeze and Aruba score highest on the Implementation axis, measuring actual security in their products....
