The System Management Module (SMM) is an intelligent monitoring board that is programmable for full system monitoring capabilities. The SMM can monotir voltages, temperatures, current, and fan speed and report present status and alarm conditions via RS-232, Ethernet, and [I.sup.2] C communications links, plus VFDFLCD or LED output. The unit provides a generous set of inputs and outputs that can be augmented with satellite boards for additional functionality. The base board can monitor up to eight points for over- and under-voltage, up to four fans, up to three temperature sensors, DC OK and AC OK inputs, and other digital inputs. Outputs include one multi-purpose LED indicator output, up to two open-collector outputs, and one form C relay output.
