Kenya's tea exports fall.(Commodities)

KENYA'S TEA PRODUCTION saw a 13 per cent rise in July to 23mn kg, mainly on account of increased production in the tea-growing regions west of the Rift Valley due to favourable weather conditions. This came as a welcome turnaround as severe drought had hit the country's tea production in the first quarter of the year, leading to a cumulative 19 per cent or 32.5mn kg fall in output year-on-year for the first six months of 2006.
