IN A BID to improve its competitiveness on the coast of the Indian Ocean, the Port of Mombasa is slated to undergo a major overhaul in equipment and other cargo services in the coming year.
Reputed to compete with such ports as Durban, Maputo and Dar es Salaam, Kilindini Harbour at the Kenyan coastal town of Mombasa has in recent years received complaints from exporters and importers of poor services and container delays in processing and transit through it.
