Switch-to-computer links: the first two years.

Only two and a half years have passed since the PBX and computer manufacturers introduced Switch-toComputer Applications Interface (SCAI) Links (also known as Request and Status Links-RSLs) to the U.S. market. Since then, over 200 SCAI installations have been reported, and while some significant market constraints must be confronted, the installed base is likely to double during 1992.

This 30-month-old industry has completed its first phase of evolution-the experimental phase-and is now moving into a second, critical stage: initial deployment.
