It's no panacea, but videoconferencing helps companies accomplish their mission. A look at the technology in action. More than 60 hardware, LAN and software companies are chasing the market for desktop videoconferencing. Many are undercapitalized, underengineered, nonstandard and overmarketed - only a few appear to have aroused much interest as providers of serious business applications.
