Linux lags, but poised for rebound. (Market Trends).(Brief Article)

Revenue related to Linux environments declined in 2001 over 2000, but the market for products relating to the open-source software is expected to more than triple by 2006, according to International Data Corp. (IDC). IDC found flat growth last year in server operating environments, while client unit shipment grew nearly 50 percent.
The largest growth was in Asia/Pacific, which accounted for 34 percent of all new client and server operating environment license shipments in 2001.
