Muffling the Mullahs: Even before President Clinton moved this week to cut off all trade with Iran, his administration seems to have been eager to give the mullahs a tough time on the diplomatic front. A gathering here last Friday, which focused on American-Iran relations and was organized by Rutgers University, originally boasted three top Iranian officials, including its ambassador to the United Nations, Kamal Kharrazi.
