Forward 03-03-2000 ISRAEL BUSINESS Tel-Tech Index: The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange recently established a new index of technology shares, the Tel-Tech Index, designed to spotlight 44 local stocks and lure Israeli retail investors back to the bourse. The top seven stocks on the index, which is scheduled to launch April 2, are Elron Electronic Industries Ltd., Clal Electronic Industries Ltd., NICE Systems Ltd., Formula Systems (1985) Ltd., Elbit Ltd., Lipman Electronic Engineering Ltd.
and Elbit Systems Ltd. The shares included on the Tel-Tech list had average returns of 160% in 1999, compared to the 62% average for the TA-100 Index of the most heavily capitalized shares, and 73% for the Yeter Index of small-cap shares, the TASE said. Yeter means "the rest" in...
