Morrison, Roy Forward 11-30-2001 A Dove Fumes at Terrorists' Escape I'm angry, really angry. I'm in Queens, N.Y., visiting my parents for Thanksgiving. We stop off at the home of old friends -- I'll call them Billy and Annie, to respect their privacy. Like my dad, Billy's in his mid-80s, a retired federal lawman.

The kind of brave, good-hearted family guys who did their jobs without fanfare and died September 11. Billy's just come back from picking up 16 collection cans put out by the Knights of Columbus for families of World Trade Center victims in neighborhood restaurants and bars. We're New Yorkers, Americans, all of us. Those terrorist can't win, won't win. And then I'm reading the lead story in The New York Times, "Pakistanis Again Said To Evacuate...
