By John Young Indian Country Today WOUNDED KNEE -- A plan to establish the first tribal park in the United States at the site of the Wounded Knee Massacre remains in limbo nearly a year after a Senate hearing on the plan. The Senate Subcommittee on Public Lands, National Parks and Forests held a hearing July 29, 1993, on several options for Wounded Knee, and "nothing's happened since then," according to a subcommittee staffer. The legislation -- which still does not carry a price tag -- would establish a Wounded Knee National Tribal Memorial consisting of: Sites related to the Wounded Knee Massacre and the Ghost Dance at a north unit on the Cheyenne River...
