Pierpoint, Mary Indian Country Today (Lakota Times) 10-31-2001 Native Americans is the theme for Scholastic News for children NEW YORK CITY - As part of November's National American Indian Heritage Month, Scholastic News dedicated an entire issue about American Indian children. The November/December issue is titled Native American News and has features which include learning a Cheyenne word, canoes in Canada and a pow wow dancer. Andrea-Thompson Tune of Albuquerque, N.M., graces the cover of the magazine that is read by school children nationwide.
