It's right there in big, black, bold letters in the front of the university's strategic plan manual, that NAU is intended to be the "nation's leading university serving Native Americans." And, the statistics certainly suggest giving that ambitious goal a second look. With nearly 1,400 students representing more than 40 tribes, NAU has the largest Indian student enrollment outside of Oklahoma.
