Keating, Paul Irish Voice 05-20-2003 CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA -- For four days last week, people scurried from early morning to late at night trying to take in 53 scheduled events in a frenetic pace that would have taxed even the average Dubliner or New Yorker. Thankfully, most events were inside a convenient conference hotel, though space and artistic considerations also warranted outside excursions to an adjacent downtown pedestrian mall and a nearby university campus by bus. One might get the impression that serious business was afoot, but actually it was the fanciful and, at times, elegant quest to "Re-imagine Ireland," with a diverse community of over 300 people who converged upon Charlottesville, Virginia from May 7 - 10.
