Deignan, Tom Irish Voice 10-28-2003 ON Friday, October 24, the Rev. Joseph M. McShane, S.J., will officially become the new president of Fordham University in the Bronx. Father McShane, 53, replaces Joseph O'Hare, the longtime leader of the Bronx-based Jesuit university. Given all this, Father McShane is understandably busy.
He has been talking to staff and alumni, assessing the state of Fordham's student body and financial books, not to mention pondering a trip to Babe Ruth's grave in Gate of Heaven cemetery, Hawthorne, New York.
