Brennan, Georgina Irish Voice 09-27-2005 FORDHAM University has won a 10-year battle against the New York Botanical Garden and finally found a site for a new antenna for their popular Irish American radio station WFUV. A new 160-foot antenna for Fordham University's radio station was erected on top of Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
The antenna, a 160-foot radio transmission device, replaces the original antenna at the university's Rose Hill campus. The station, popular across the tri-state with Irish Americans and Irish music fans alike, had to begin looking for a new site for their antenna when in 1994 the New York Botanical Garden opposed the building of an antenna across the street from the popular tourist attraction.
