By Patrick Keating Virtual Reality Wolf, the latest interpretation of the werewolf mythos, finds Jack Nicholson, as book editor Will Randall, bitten by a wolf while returning from a business meeting in Vermont, struggling to hold on to his humanity and prosaically his job, while simultaneously exulting in his suddenly increased senses. The publishing house Randall works for is being bought out in a corporate merger, and Randall's supposedly loyal protege, Stewart Swinton (James Spader) has been sweet-talking publisher Raymond Alden (Christopher Plummer) into giving him Randall's job as senior editor.
Swinton has also been having an affair with Randall's wife. Like the wolf he is...
