Michigan Chronicle 05-23-2000 Medical scholarship supports Black women The Krystal Johnson Woods Memorial Scholarship Foundation has announced its 2000 scholarship competition. The foundation will award a one-year $2,000 scholarship to an African American female medical student at Wayne State University.
The competition is open to students who have completed at least one year of medical school at Wayne State University and will be awarded based on academic merit, financial need and community involvement. The application deadline is June 1. The scholarship honors the memory of Krystal Johnson Woods, a second-year medical student at Wayne State at the time of her death in 1998.
