Michigan Chronicle 12-11-2001 Awards to honor leaders committed to improving lives of Native Americans SBC Ameritech honored six Michigan citizens Nov. 8 during the SBC Ameritech Native American Excellence Awards program at the Soaring Eagle Resort in Mt. Pleasant. This inaugural event recognized the accomplishments of six individuals committed to improving and celebrating the Native American culture and community. The SBC Ameritech Native American Excellence Awards program is part of the company's oldest corporate-sponsored cultural celebrations in Michigan, the Living the Dream Award program.
