Michigan Chronicle 02-05-2002 Services for Dr. Marjorie Peebles-Meyers will be held at Cathedral Church of St. Paul on Feb. 2. Dr. Peebles-Meyers died Dec. 26. Dr. Peebles-Meyers was born Oct. 6, 1915, in New York City to James Peebles, a postal clerk, and Elizabeth Wilson Peebles, a seamstress.

She accepted Christ at an early age and graduated from Hunter High School, a prestigious, all-girl public school for the academically gifted. In 1937, she graduated from Hunter College in New York with degrees in physics and chemistry. In 1938, she received her master's degree in psychology from Columbia University.
