Cabell, Terry Michigan Chronicle 10-07-2003 Jim Bibbs doesn't do a whole lot these days. But that doesn't mean he isn't busy. Since retiring as head track coach at Michigan State University in 1995, Bibbs' life centers around family, traveling, listening to jazz and gospel music, going to church, watching the Detroit Lions during football season, and serving as a volunteer track coach at East Lansing High School. "I'm enjoying (retirement) very much," said Bibbs, who coached at MSU for 27 years (1968-95).
"I don't do anything. I try to go to the NCAA indoor track meet every year. But I tell people I'm at East Lansing (High) on Friday night, Michigan State on Saturday, and the Detroit Lions, particularly when they had Barry Sanders, on Sunday. I go to church...
