Democratic convention touted as most diverse ever

Michigan Chronicle 07-20-2004 With the certification of all delegates for the 2004 Democratic National Convention completed, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) recently announced that almost 40 percent of the delegates participating in the July 26-29 convention in Boston are minorities, making the 2004 convention the most diverse in Democratic Party history. "We could not be more proud to announce today that the 2004 Democratic National Convention will be the most diverse in our party's history," said Alice Huffman, DNCC chairwoman.
