Michigan Chronicle 11-02-2004 Detroit PAL Cheerleading Championships The Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL) will hold its 18th Annual Cheerleading Competition at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, at Caliban Hall on the University of Detroit-Mercy campus at 4100 West McNichols in Detroit. More than 1,100 PAL cheerleaders will showcase their spirit and teamwork through synchronized jumps, kicks, chants and dances, ultimately competing for the title of PAL Cheerleading Champion. The expected level of excitement and energy comes as no surprise to those familiar with the talents of these athletes ranging in age from 5 to 15.
In addition to preparing for the annual competition, the cheerleaders support PAL's 20 football teams at weekly games across the city. Over...
