New Detroit hosted Camp Enterprise for high school juniors and seniors. Through the camp, students attended one of two business camps at Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University. "Camp Enterprise is an investment in our future," said Shirley Stancato, president of New Detroit, Inc. "This camp reaches out to goal-orientated students and provides them an outlet for their creativity in business while giving them the opportunity to learn more about business as a career. At the same time, for many it is their first opportunity to be on a college campus." Since its inception in 2001, the camp's participation has doubled.
