Dennis W. Archer Foundation awards $100,000 in scholarships to help students stay in college

Michigan Chronicle 09-06-2005 The Dennis W. Archer Foundation recently announced the awarding of $100,000 in scholarships for the 2005-2006 academic year to 21 students attending Wayne State University (WSU) and Western Michigan University (WMU). This brings the total to 54 awards and $265,000 since the foundation's initial event in 2001.
The Archer Foundation's goals are to provide financial support to as many as 25 needy college students every year and to create Archer Scholars, principally Detroit high school graduates, who are able to thrive in college without having to work excessive hours.
