Fifth Third Bank volunteers for American Red Cross; Michigan banking centers appointed official donation sites for Hurricane Katrina victims

Thompson, Vicky Michigan Chronicle 09-20-2005 In an effort to help the victims and families affected by Hurricane Katrina, all Fifth Third Banking Centers in Michigan have been collecting public and private monetary donations on behalf of the American Red Cross. A special account has been set up where donation deposits will benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Contributions to this fund enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, clothing, counseling, relief supplies and other assistance to those in need as a result of the devastation left behind by one of the largest natural disasters in this country's history.
