WSU and DSO announce new scholarships

Michigan Chronicle 11-29-2005 The Wayne State University Department of Music, in conjunction with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, announces a new, joint initiative to support future WSU music majors. The WSU/DSO Scholarships in Music will support five music students beginning in fall 2006. Eligible scholarship recipients must be members of a DSO Civic Ensemble and plan to enroll in one of WSU Music's six bachelor of music degree programs in jazz studies, performance, music education, management, technology, or theory/composition. These full-tuition scholarships will support the recruitment of local undergraduate students.
Each scholarship will be renewable up to four years, with a total cumulative value of more than $30,000. Funding for these scholarships...
