Until today, research about Jewish women might fill the pages of one small book. Now, that is about to change. In a move likely to shake up Jewish academe, the first International Research Institute on Jewish Women has been established at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.

The Jewish Week has learned. Created with a $1.5-million, six-year grant from Hadassah, the Women's Zionist organization of America, the institute will be launched officially at Hadassah's national convention in Chicago, on July 16.
