SAN DIEGO, Calif.--The Cable Center and its partners C-SPAN and the University of Denver are using Path 1 Network Technologies Inc.'s Cx1000 series IP video network gateways for their Global Distance Learning Program. The new network links The Cable Center to the public affairs cable channels of C-SPAN.

University of Denver students attend classes at The Cable Center and interact with lectures from C-SPAN studios in Washington, D.C., via a live, two-way television link. A control room allows both the students and the instructor to see a variety of views as the class is taught, including a view of the professor, an overhead view to see any papers or materials being presented, and both wide and close shots of the students for the professor in Washington. ...
