NPL is working on two projects for BG&E, replacing electric cable and a gas main in Westminster and Bel Air, Maryland.
NPL Construction Company is currently working on two utility replacement projects for Baltimore Gas & Electric (BG&E), 7,000 feet of electric cable in Westminster and 3,200 feet of gas main in Bel Air. NPL is using Ditch Witch 2720 Mach 1 and 1220 Mach 1 horizontal directional drilling (HDD) rigs to replace these lines.
According to Doug Miller, superintendent, NPL has two drill crews that work full time on electric cable replacement. One of these crews is using a Ditch Witch 2720 to pull 7,000 feet of primary electric cable through a residential neighborhood. Although this is a typical job for...
