Economy Holds Steady Leader Panelists are finding the year is shaping up much as they had expected It's been a year of few surprises for Construction Equipment magazine's Leader Panel of more than 230 construction firms. As predicted in the last survey, the latest survey also shows that panelists expect a 3-percent growth in contract volume compared to 1989.
However, the business year outlook for 1990 has been downgraded slightly from good to good to mediocre, indicating that panelists believe there is some softness in the market. Fleet replacement values will remain at the levels expected earlier in the year. Panelists will increase the values of their fleets by 5 percent, while increasing the sizes of their fleets by 6 percent. This...
