Construction Equipment, October, 1998
* JCB has ended its joint venture with Sumitomo for the manufacture of tracked excavators, and will now produce and sell hydraulic excavators independently. JCB will manufacture its current line of 14 Sumitomo-designed tracked machines, ranging from 7 to 45 tons, along with its two JCB-designed 13- and 16ton wheeled excavators.
The conclusion of the joint venture will allow JCB to market its products worldwide, including North America, where it plans an early introduction of its full tracked line.
