Caterpillar adds skid-steer loaders to compact line Last fall, Caterpillar launched its Compact Product line by announcing the first machines in its range of compact wheel loaders and mini-excavators, along with a line of Cat work tools designed specifically for these units. The company has now expanded the offering of its Compact Product line with the addition of six skid-steer models, ranging in rated operating capacity from 1,350 to 2,000 pounds.
The first of the new skid-steers, the 216 and 226, rated at 1,350 and 1,500 pounds, respectively, will be available in the second quarter.
