Komatsu Mining Systems' PC1800-6 crawler excavator is said to have the largest bucket in its class--15.7 cubic yards--and combines the productivity of a mining excavator with the fine control of a smaller excavator. It has three-mode digging control, allowing the operator to match machine performance to the job.
The unit also features Komatsu's Vehicle Health Monitoring System, which has full monitoring and diagnostic capability. Powered by twin Komatsu engines, it has an output of 908 horsepower. This machine carries a list price of about $2 million.
