Schneider Electric's new XPS-MP safety module is able to monitor two independent safety functions simultaneously. Designed as a general purpose solution for safety applications up to category 4 (as per standard EN 954-1), the XPS-MP module can monitor a range of functions, including emergency stop, enabling control and coded magnetic switches. Users can select any two of the fifteen integrated, certified functions via the front panel, using three keys. The unit has three outputs that send messages to the PLC controlling the process, and to LEDs on the front panel to provide a high-level diagnosis.
