When 22-year-old Jordis Unga hit the stage on Rock Star: INXS--CBS's reality show aimed at finding a new lead singer for the Aussie power pop rock band that topped the charts in the '80s--queer girls around the country saw something in her that resonated with them. The baggy, butchy fashion sense, the multicolored dreadlocks, the husky voice and the striking resemblance to lesbian musician and uberproducer Linda Perry. It didn't even matter that the crooner wasn't technically queer.
What surprised you most about this whole experience?
Everything really.... I think the most shocked I ever was, was when I left. I mean, we were sequestered in the house, and I guess I never really let it sink in how many people were watching.
