"This is my worst nightmare," quipped helmer-scribe Mike White Thursday night when his directorial debut, "Year of the Dog," experienced technical difficulties minutes into its premiere, forcing a lengthy delay inside the Paramount studio theater. Stars Molly Shannon, Josh Pais and Laura Dern attempted to entertain the crowd by performing scenes but soon gave up and rejoined the audience.

The downtime did give guests a chance to mingle: Ben Stiller caught up with Drew Barrymore, while Megan Mullally stole Stiller's seat to chat with Christine Taylor. ...
