M2 PRESSWIRE-2 July 1998-SINGAPORE AIRLINES: Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa launch their strategic alliance (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:010798 Seven months after signing a Memorandum of Understanding, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Lufthansa German Airlines today launched their strategic alliance by introducing codesharing on services between Singapore and Frankfurt, and between Frankfurt and New York.

The codeshare arrangement will enable both airlines to offer their passengers more choice of services between Singapore and Frankfurt. Each airline has increased its frequency on the route from seven to 10 a week.
