M2 PRESSWIRE-20 July 1998-NOKIA: Nokia and Globe Telecom sign expansion agreement in the Philippines (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:200798 Globe Telecom and Nokia have signed a contract for the phase five expansion of Globe Telecom's Handyphone service, the Company's Mobile Telephone System (CMTS), based on GSM.

The value of the contract is approximately USD 25 million. Nokia will expand Globe's GSM 900 services and quality of the network in the Metro Manila area, with work scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. Under the agreement, Nokia will supply a full range of telecommunications services, from site acquisition to network integration.
