M2 PRESSWIRE-21 July 1998-USPS: U.S. Postal Service files mailing online with the Postal Rate Commission (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:160798 WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Postal Service filed a classification case yesterday with the Postal Rate Commission for temporary Mailing Online services that enable customers to automate mailings from their personal computers.

Mailing Online will allow small and home business customers to create documents on their computers, then transmit them electronically, via the Internet, to the Postal Service. The documents will then be routed to printing contractors who will, in turn, print, stuff and address the mail to customer-furnished mailing lists.
