(Nasdaq: BITS) announced today that is has been granted a broad U.S. patent titled "Apparatus and Methods for Creating and Using Portable Fonts." The patent (number 5,781,714) includes 51 claims that cover aspects of creating subsetted fonts, managing and rendering portable font objects, and using portable fonts in portable documents.
