M2 PRESSWIRE-4 September 1998-ATA: Passenger traffic increases in July -- Revenue passenger miles increase 3.1 percent (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:030998 Washington, DC -- The Air Transport Association (ATA) reported an increase of 3.1 percent in revenue passenger miles (RPM) in July, as compared to the same month last year.
Domestic RPMs increased by 2.9 percent in July and international RPMs increased 3.6 percent. Revenue passenger mile is the industry term used to quantify business; one RPM is one paying passenger transported one mile.
