M2 PRESSWIRE-1 October 1998-ATA: Airfares increase slightly -- August fares up $4 (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:250998 Washington, DC -- The Air Transport Association (ATA) released their monthly Domestic Airfare Report today and it shows that average airfares in August increased $4.01 to $129.58 from $125.57 (3.2) over August 1997.
Year-to-date (January-August 98) average fares have remained relatively unchanged over the same period one year ago, increasing $2.93 to $138.55 (2.2). The report includes monthly average coach and first-class ticket prices, as well as average ticket prices overall.
