(AMEX: TWA) today announced the acquisition of four Boeing 757-200 aircraft from Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, all for delivery in 1999.

TWA also announced the acquisition of one 767-300ER from lessor International Lease Finance Corp. (ILFC) to be delivered in 1999. The acquisitions will give TWA a fleet of 27 757-200s and 5 767-300ERs by January 2000. The new 757-200s will allow TWA to retire its remaining fleet of less efficient and noisier Boeing 727-200 aircraft by year-end 1999, helping it meet federally mandated Stage III...
