M2 PRESSWIRE-21 December 1998-NASA: KSC extends Boeing payload processing contract (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:181298 NASA's Kennedy Space Center has awarded The Boeing Company at KSC the final three-year contract extension for payload ground operations service. The value of this option is $331.9 million which brings the total value of the 15-year contract to $1.8 billion.

This contract extension is effective Jan. 1, 1999, and ends Dec. 31, 2001. This is the fifth and final extension of the payload ground operations contract awarded since the original contract was initiated in January 1987 with McDonnell Douglas Space and Defense Systems.
